It's that time again.
My wife goes down to Georgia to pick up the kids who are down there with relatives for a couple weeks.
They are loving it, but they want to get back for Dad's annual Kids Fishing Derby....hehe.

In the meantime, I'm helping unpack the groceries and I can't wait to indulge in the culinary delights before me.
Szechwan Chicken
Slow Roasted Beef Tenderloin Tips
Philly Steak
Jalapeno Steak
...and those were just the first few TV dinners I pulled out!

You would think I'd be cooking up something good this week, but ya know what?
I do much of the cooking for the whole family any other night, simply because I enjoy it (and they like mine better)...so this week is MY vacation as well.

:T:

Can't wait to dig in......

A big pot of Chili goes a long way...

Day One -   Chili
Day Two -   Chili Mac
Day Three - Chili & Tamale's
Day Four  -  Chili Mac & Tamale's
Day Five -   Chili Dogs
Day Six -    Chili Mac Tamale Dogs
Day Seven - a visit to the poison clinic for eating week old Chili  :F

In both instances, there's a twilight where everything remains
seemingly unchanged, and it is in such twilight that we
must be aware of change in the air, however slight,
lest we become unwitting victims of the darkness.

Chicken? Beef?

Where's the fish?? Surely you could find a fish dinner in the freezer section somewhere?

My guys were at Cub Scout camp for two nights - I chose one of those *seafood* salads from the grocery deli. Yumm!

And, so nice to get a break from meal planning/prep.
