For the December edition of the Heartland "Outdoor Heritage" Contest, we are extremely proud to welcome our newest Sponsor:

The Coleman Company

"Since 1900, our obsession, as well as our passion, has always been building a smarter product-one that works harder, lasts longer and performs heroically.

We have no use for ordinary products, and we know you don't either. We do what it takes to be better whether it's roughing up prototypes, rigging up a rain room in our factory to test tents or enduring the elements to pit our propane appliances against dropping temperatures.

We believe it's all in a day's work. That's our promise to you."

Please be sure to visit their website below, where you can find out how far they go to deliver on that promise in each of their product lines. We think you'll be impressed!

Now for the details regarding the December Promotion:

Registered members (Sorry- STAFF and Previous Heritage Contest Winners are not eligible) of the Heartland Outdoorsman website earn what is called "Heartland Gold" for each and every post they make in the forums.
More points are accrued for starting a New Topic, but responses in threads are rewarded as well.
Emphasis is placed on starting your own thread in acquiring points, so this is the site activity that will get you the most for your efforts.

What can I do with these points?"

At anytime after gaining your posting points, you can head over to the left column of the Forum Index and click on Play Site Lottery!

You are then able to TRADE those points, and the details are added to your account.
This system is a "Weighted Lottery", meaning the more tickets you trade for, the better your chances of winning.
The page will always tell you how many days remain until the Lottery is decided- an automated process- and your chances of winning according to your holdings at the time.

Whenever you make a post, you can view below your Avatar how much Heartland Gold is in your account.

PLEASE REMEMBER TO USE THE RESPECTIVE FORUMS FOR YOUR POSTS.
This is simply an explanatory thread, open for any questions or comments you may have that are directly related to the contest.

The Heartland Outdoorsman makes no guarantee against any unforseen technical problems or server interruptions that may arise during the time-frame of this promotion, and reserves the right to choose from all available participants in the event of malfunction(s) that cannot be rectified otherwise.

That tent looks sweet, for sure. Not sure what I'd do with it since I have more tents than Carter has pills. Shucks, I could start my own refugee camp. Yep

Whenever you see a new post icon for this thread, check in for new ways to gain points to be applied toward your chances at winning this prize!

In your Member Box at the top of the left column on the Index page, you will see a "Tell A Friend" link.
When you click on that, you are able to send a pre-formatted email inviting your friends to check us out. (You can alternately word the email any way you like in the text box, but remember to leave the URL intact)

When that friend makes a post in the Members Intro forum stating which member sent them you BOTH will earn 1,000 Heartland Gold- which of course is added to your account and enables you to trade it for Prize Lottery tickets.

When I see the posts, I'll add the points.

Here is the link if you want to get started right now......

Dang, I knew I shouldn't have run off all my friends.

And Birdsnest, stop giving me such good ideas. It's been a long time since I hung around with a bunch of hippie chicks. I'm still trying to get that smile off my face.

No...not the Heartland Heritage Contest winner....
But I'm glad you asked, as we will be going back to the Tackle Lottery for January, and it should be noted that the October winner (Rob) is not eligible for that until Feb.
